The Magic Of Giving Christmas Cards

We would say that wouldn’t we, but we believe it.

The sender of the card has put a lot of care into choosing the picture, alright unless they dashed out and grabbed the last box. We are not admitting to it. The message, picture ,or both are part of the givers love of sending something they know will be enjoyed by those they care about. The writing was done by their hand not a computer, when we know someone we can tell they wrote something by their style of writing, fonts are anonymous. Hand written wording is decided with great care, there is no quick delete button. Cards can be framed, placed into a journal to be cherished, or turned into gift cards for the next Christmas season. They are a gift to or from the people we love and care about and can be cherished for life, a momento.

Ok there is a dark side to them when the cat merrily enjoys the spirit of Christmas, by swiping them off the mantle one by one. A mysterious gust of wind which blows them to the floor for the umpteenth time, or the cost of the stamp to send them. However the sparkle of glitter (you can get eco friendly glitter), and vibrant colours brighten our houses. They become part of the pleasures of winter brightening our lives, like a log fire, cocoa and a warm blanket on a cold night. Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without them. A gift of love, far removed from the seemingly ever expensive present giving, leaving many in debt.
